Strings at Twilight – all-abilities strings sessions April ’18

I’ve gone from being a complete beginner to being able to join in small group musical pieces. I liked the variety – from physical exercises, audio games to playing with an ensemble. A thoroughly enjoyable course – J, Strings at Twilight participant

Strings at Twilight is a new mixed-ability group for any adult who wants to play a cello, violin or viola, regardless of experience. Modelled on our successful weekly string project, Silver Strings, this class is suitable for complete beginners and more experienced players alike – we can even provide instruments for new players on request.

Strings at Twilight is an evening class where we will explore soundmaking and familiar music, string-playing fundamentals, and musical building blocks in a fun and supportive atmosphere. Participants are encouraged to bring in their own ideas and suggestions for the group to try, within the structured weekly format.
Participants say that our sessions are ‘very inspiring and informative’, that ‘I’ve been looking for workshops like this for years!’ and ‘I feel a sense of achievement when I find I’m thinking about something in a new way’.
