Sing Healthy Play Happy – music for people with dementia and their carers
Sing Healthy Play Happy is a new weekly music group for people with dementia and their carers, starting in October ’14 at the Phoenix Centre, central Brighton.
In these fun, gentle and supportive sessions we will:
- sing familiar and new songs together
- explore instruments and sounds
- try out material to use at home
- move gently to music
- make new friends
Making music together is good for us! It lifts our spirits and helps us relax – it can really take us out of ourselves and give us a break, even for a short while.
Sing Healthy Play Happy is an Open Strings Music CIC project, funded by Sussex Community Foundation and facilitated by Goldsmiths University of London -trained community musicians Amy Hill & Isabel Emerson.
All sessions will be held at the Phoenix Centre, 2 Phoenix Place, Brighton, BN2 9ND
NB: this will be a closed group from week #2, 17th October ’14 – please book and come along before then.
