Music-making training for carers, Spring ’18

We’re offering free music-making training for carers of people living with dementia in three locations in Brighton & Hove, in February & March 2018.

We’ll explore songs, sound-making and rhythm as well as discussing practical issues. We’ll discuss how music-making benefits all of us, and how we can use music-making as a relational tool for communication when working with people living with dementia.

These 90-minute sessions are designed to offer practical tools to engage and communicate with others. They’re suitable for professional and family carers / companions. No prior musical experience is necessary.

The training session is free to attend as it’s funded as part of our three-year project commissioned by NHS Brighton & Hove CCG.

The sessions:

  • 6th February, 12:30-2pm, Hop 50+, Palmeira Square (nearly full)
  • 27th February, 1:45-3:15pm, Maycroft Manor, Carden Avenue (spaces available)
  • 16th March, 10:30am-12pm, New Larchwood, Coldean (spaces available)

Please note: this is a session that is running three times, rather than being a course of three sessions. Booking is essential – please use our contact form
